This came in handy, years ago. When the spacecraft RS-12/13 was alive.
Since its cousin RS15 still flies, why not mod it to suit that bird which still beeps.

Radio Sputnik Telemetry Translator (decoder) 2009 update page.
Codes for RS-15 have been added.
They only appear on Dashboard diplay mode. Not Channel Display Mode.
I am adding that to it, as well as looking at other RS sat codes.
The rest of the page below serves as the tutorial.
A screen shot of Radio Sputnik Telemetry Translator after starting it.
Telemetry can be entered by hand manually.
Choose the correct 3 letter prefix from each channels drop down window,
and then enter numeric data in the column on the right.
If you do not have any of your own telemetry, there are some telemetry sample test files,
click the 'Read' button and select rstelem1.txt to open.
Once you have entered the data either by hand or reading of a prepared text file,
click on the 'Dash' or 'Channel' buttons for the results.
Telemetry entered by hand can be saved as a telemetry text file, click the 'Save' button.
The filename will automatically be advanced to the next available fliename.
The same data can be displayed in more of a dashboard fashion if you prefer it.
This program needs telemetry in text data form.
It will not decode audio signals into CW by itself.
For that purpose, use a CW morse code program that will decode audio CW into text, such as,
This software, as of Aug 2009, will be getting the RS15 codes put into it, RS15 is in fact different to RS12/13. It took me a while to get around to making comparisons.
RS15 telemetry is very different than RS12/13, it looks similar is all, the software requires modifications in order to decode it.
Please send any RS15 data you have archived for this purpose. I have the codes, minus the tables for the last 4 channels. I will see if I can track the tables down somewhere, perhaps those that look after these birds or have used them previously.
When the RS15 codes have been implemented, this page will reflect that.
If there are any problems, please email me.
LINKS.
Here are some relevant links to RS12/13, RS15 and RS16.
This version of the program has basically one typo correction made that was in the original download elswhere on the internet.
One of the A channels had SAN in the drop down window instead of ANS.
There are some basic preparations for RS 15 telemetry testing, but not implemented completely yet without the missing tables. So I guess this is the 1B version,
I have changed the name of the exe file.
It was RS12_13TT.EXE
It is now RS_TT.EXE.
For telemetry text files to be able to be read by the program, the format for them is,
The first line of the file MUST be a blank line or carriage return.
The second line must identify the transponder rs12, rs13, rs15.
The third line must be the first channel Alpha 3 letter data.
The fourth line must be the first channel Numeric data.
Fifth and sixth lines, as above except for second channel,
and so forth, until all sixteen channels are there.

Depending on when and if I find my preamplifier or have to make another, is when I will be able to listen out for these birds myslef.
If anyone has any RS 12/13 or RS 15 data, recordings, hand copied CW, or has heard from RS 15 lately. Please let me know of your 'siting', email me a copy or links to where you have data for others to find.
